Did you know? 165 School pools have closed across New Zealand over the past 5 years.

We work with schools to write independent condition assessment reports. These reports provide schools with the information they need to make informed decisions regarding maintenance requirements and the future viability of their school pool.

Water Safety New Zealand’s key objective is to have more New Zealanders respect the water and have the skills, knowledge and awareness to enjoy it safely. This is particularly important given the nature of our island nation and popularity of water-based recreational activities. Providing this resource to children is of primary importance.

However, ‘water space’ is required to meet this objective, and community pools do not have the capacity to deliver all of these programmes, to all children. Therefore, the water space that school pools provide must be maintained (rather than closed) to enable these pivotal programmes to be made available and delivered to all New Zealand children.

Amotto Consultancy has an overarching vision to work with schools to minimise the number of school pools closing. We do this by working with schools to write independent condition assessment reports on their pools and surrounds. This provides schools with the information they need to make informed decisions regarding ongoing required maintenance and the future viability of their school pool. Indicative costs associated with all maintenance and upgrade works are also provided to enable schools to accurately prepare their budgets.
